about the designer
Janet Torelli, a self-taught sterling tableware designer, draws her unique designs from architectural and organic forms. While some have found the influence of fine jewelry in her designs, Torelli sees her work as a marriage of functionality and contemporary elegance for the table. Janet Torelli’s ‘Swirl’ Tomato Spoon is in the National Design Museum in New York.
Janet is a party planner extraordinaire, Chef and Certified Sommelier. She teaches cooking classes including grilling classes on the Big Green Egg.
She resides with her husband, René, in Pebble Beach, CA, which provides a fertile source for her design ideas. She is a member of the American Craft Council, GuildSomm, and the International Wine and Food Society.
